Land of Kaski
Sharp -toothed, horn -headed kaskis were thought to be extinct, but now they have begun to flourish again. Their presence can be noticed on the mountains, on the cliffs and old meadows. Kaskis are described as stubborn and even dangerous but also as animals, who appreciate peace and life.
However, not everyone is happy of Kaskis life signs. People are ready to protect their fields and cattle from new animals that are taking their living space once again. Will your Kaski survive steep cliffs and people's traps?
Land of Kaski (LoK) is a voluntary place where you can share your stories, art and ideas of your own kaski-character with other kaski inspired creators. You can describe it as semi-open species with rpg/arpg features. You can choose how you bring your input to the LoK-community - is it through different art or someway else. We are located on a Discord-server.
You're welcomed to join us and check our Discord-community. You can also find our designing guide and lot of other stuff from there! Click the icon to join our server:
Species information
Life expectancy: 15-20 years
Height: 60-100 cm.
Diet: Omnivores.
Type: Herd animalsIt takes about two years from birth to get full-grown horns. Fully grown horns are a sign of adulthood and, as a rule, every kaski grows horns. There are no clear differences between males and females.Kaskis live in small families, usually around 5-15 members and are very protective of themselves and their herd. They are ready to attack with their horns or bite the threat if there’s a reason. Sometimes they have been described as too brave and that has caused some of the kaskis to get serious injuries and die. Of course, not all of them are attacking, but among their own herd they live a very calm and peaceful life. Some of them enjoy peace more than others. The living environment is often rocky, and the kaskis do not shy away from steep walls. When searching for food however, they often end up in meadows and flatter terrain, but even there they look for large stones. The Kaskis are very good climbers and they have the ability to jump very high, but they are poor swimmers. If a place is rich in resources, Kaskis will establish a territory, otherwise they become nomadic and roam great distances.Common threats for kaskis are humans and their traps, wolf packs, and bears. While uncommon, falling from the cliffs is also a danger, especially for younger kaskis. They are prone to injuries from fights, both with predators and other kaskis.
Diet
Their main diet consists of berries, different kinds of plants and branches but they can eat pretty much anything. Animals like wild boar, rabbits, birds and deers are rarely hunted, but if the herd is good at hunting, they gravitate towards a more carnivorous diet. Kaskis use their ability to jump and climb in different ways and their hunting relies more on stalking and patience than on long runs after prey.

Lamb's Daydream
A plant that spreads near the kaski habitat. It is a purple, broad-leaved plant that, despite its beautiful name, is poisonous to humans when eaten. Kaskis love this plant and it is a great treat for them - especially the berries of the plant that come out in autumn. Those berries create a state similar to drunkenness. When this happens, kaskis can be seen doing even stupid things and staggering along the rocks. The plant spreads with Kaski and thrives especially on rocks in both bright and dry environments. Lamb’s daydream is also called “lamb nap” between kaskis.
World around kaskis
A long time ago, it was said to bring bad luck if you saw a kaski. And no wonder - where there were kaskis, there were also lamb's daydreams, plants poisonous to humans. The relationship between kaskis and humans was not terribly good, and kaskis were hunted both for food and to reduce harm to livestock. After decades, the kaskis - and the plants with them - disappeared and people thought they were extinct. In recent years, however, they have returned back to the mountains and descended into the valleys and old forests, multiplying more and more.In this world humans don’t have mobile phones, cars or the internet. They have guns but the fastest way to travel is by train or horse. Kaskis don’t usually get on around humans and humans rarely get to see kaskis. Kaskis beware of humans. In rare cases humans have captured kaskis and created a bond. These kaskis can protect their humans like their own herd but otherwise there isn't a straight benefit to try to breed this stubborn, wild animal like livestock.
You can get an idea of the environment of kaskis by looking their pinterest board.
How to get one?
You can get a character of your own usually in two ways: Adopt design from a designer (starting price decided by designer themself) or design one for yourself (starting price at 5 euros). You must of course follow the rules if you decide to get kaski for yourself. There can be events and other events where you are able to redeem kaski designs for yourself in other ways but we will let people know of any upcoming events. We do not have any phenotypes or rarity order for different traits so you can’t breed your characters.Adopts
Adopts have more range of colors, horns and other features than imports do. They are designed by piskikone or by an authorized artist, who follows piskikone’s designing advice. Adopts are released on designers' social media and on the Land of Kaski discord server.
Imports
There are 2 different imports and you can choose one or both of them if you want. There’s some rules to follow but it’s still a kinda free process to create a kaski. You can add scars and small items if you want - read more about designing a kaski from the Designing guide from our Discord Server. You will need a program (like Photoshop, Procreate or Clip Studio Paint) which opens psd-files to design a kaski. When buying an import, remember to enter your e-mail address and nickname - this way we can verify the buyer on our Discord server. You can use your import to create 3 different characters. If you want more, you have to buy a new import which holds three character slots.

frequently asked questions
What can I do with my kaski character?
- Whatever you want to do with your oc! We have a world built around kaskis and there you can share art, your ideas and stories. You can search for roleplaying friends as well.Do I have to join your group if I get one?
- No, not at all! This is totally voluntary extra for kaskis. But you have to follow the rules whether you join or not.I don’t have kaski yet. Can I still join?
- Yes, you can join our discord. You will get a specific role and can’t see all channels (like rpg), but you’re free to look around. Please read the rules and follow them. Can I help my friend to design their kaski?
- Sure, of course! Please help others if you can.Why do designing or imports cost?
- We thought that with a small fee people would follow the rules better. Also a small fee makes sure that artists will get paid for their work. It takes hours and hours to create different imports and other features so let’s respect that. Why can't I sell my kaski designs?
- Because we are a new group and there’s a lot of things we have to learn as well, we don’t accept this - yet! We have to look how things go and grow and if there’s any changes we need to do. Those changes may affect the designs of kaskis.
